Dmitri Ivanovich Donskoy was born in 1350. In 1359 Dmitri became the head of the Russian Princepality.
Because Dmitri was 9 years old, the council ruled Russia. Dmitri began to rule Russia alone in the years to come. Dmitri first fought against the Tatars. And Dmitri won this war. After this war, Russia strengthened over the Mongol state. And Dmitri was declared saint by the church. Later, the Mongols started a war against Dmitri. And Dmitri won two great wars. After these wars, the Mongol state became weak. And thanks to Dmitri, Russia has made great progress towards becoming a fully independent empire.
Dmitri passed away in 1389.
