Dain Ironfoot was born in 2767 in Tolkien's middle world. In 2799, Dain killed the King of Orc, Azog. And so Dain became the lord of the Iron hills. In 2941, Thorin called Dain to come to Erebor and help him. And Dain went to Erebor with 500 soldiers. Thorin died in this war. So Dain became the master of Erebor. Dain successfully managed Erebor for many years. In 3019, the Easterners attacked Erebor. Dain died in this war.
