Hey Actifitters,
I had decided yesterday that I wanted to stay a little longer in the #poprzeczka competition and for that I needed at least 32k steps. Until late afternoon, I actually doubted it would happen. Besides the usual short breaks in the yard, a few errands in town and a late lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, I didn't have a whole lot of steps. But seeing the deer across the street gave us the motivation to start an extra long walk.
First we checked what's going on behind the front yard. It seems a new fiber optic provider is installing new lines, that's probably the reason for the changes we noticed in front of the small forest.
Of course, we headed to the bigger forest next. But just snapping this picture near the edge at the entrance, we were already under attack by the mosquitoes.
So before really entering the forest, we continued till the next street and caught part of the sunset.
When we finally started on the forest trails, Kaia made sure she found all the critters.
But it was just terrible with the mosquitoes. I know I'm repeating myself, but it's just crazy, big buzzing clouds around your head, bites everywhere and it doesn't matter how much repellent you doused yourself with. Anyways, we almost ran through the short loop in the forest.
And instead we walked in the neighborhood. Even miles from the forest, we still found a few mosquitoes, but that was much better.
Of course, when we finished, it was fully dark. But we had half the Moon to light up the sky for us.
Well, it was probably too long of a walk for Kaia. She's so full of goofy energy that sometimes I forget she's already 9, and for a big dog, that's not young anymore. But she followed like a trooper of course, I hope she doesn't limp tomorrow. But it was worth it, as it was sufficient to pass the bar. Now I can enter the long week end still alive in the #poprzeczka competition and maybe go even further.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
