@storiesoferne , debo felicitarlo por tanta maravilloso artículo, así como agradecerle por llevarnos una vez más de paseo. Me llamaron mucho la atención las fotografías de la cúpula reconstruidas en madera, y pues, no dudé en investigar un poco de ella y su reconstrucción.
Esto me permito encontrar un documento que explica todo el proceso constructivo de la cúpula, y pues me gustaría responder un poco a su interrogante :

Anteriormente el vestíbulo estuvo cubierto por una cúpula de piedra, pero por la pérdida de la misma fue reconstruida con técnicas modernas respetuosas con la estructura existente. En un primer momento la restauración de la cubierta fue pensada en una estructura de tipo geodésica, pero está solución fue descartada por el impacto visual que provocaría. Es por esto que optaron por construir una cúpula de madera laminada con formas similares a las que presentaba la estructura. La cúpula es de planta circular con perfil ligeramente apuntado, con un parecido a las semicúpulas y arcos que muestra en sus fotografías.
Previously the vestibule was covered by a stone dome, but due to the loss of it it was rebuilt with modern techniques respectful of the existing structure. At first the restoration of the roof was thought of as a geodesic structure, but this solution was discarded due to the visual impact it would cause. That is why they chose to build a laminated wood dome with shapes similar to those presented by the structure. The dome is circular with a slightly pointed profile, with a resemblance to the semi-domes and arches that he shows in his photographs.
En un principio, diseñaron la estructura con 16 arcos para tener 3 ventanas en la cúpula distribuidas a cada lado de su base, pero esto fue modificado porque durante las investigaciones se toparon con dos orificios originales del lado sur de los resto de la cúpula de roca, modificando así el diseño a 12 arcos radiales, 4 de estos arcos se apoyan sobre los arcos elípticos de la estructura y a su vez en una viga recta que permite absorber el empuje del arco radial. Para poder ensamblar la nueva cúpula, fue necesario de chapas corridas a las que se les abrieron orificios para poder colocar tornillos de anclaje con total libertad. Esta solución falicito su montaje ya que la cúpula es auto portante, está se apoya en una base plana sin trasmitir ningún esfuerzo que no sea vertical, para colocarla sobre la estructura de piedra solo fue necesario de una grúa de largo alcance.
