In Christianity, Holy Week is the period of the year in which the events that took place during the last days of Jesus' earthly life as a man are commemorated.

It begins on Palm Sunday, the day on which he made his triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem to the jubilation of the people of that time, and ends a week later, on Easter Sunday, when his victory over death is celebrated after his resurrection.

During this time, the Catholic Church and all denominations of Christianity, perform various religious acts, which may vary according to the rituals of each belief, and even between countries or regions.

During the recent Holy Week, I went to the center of my city to participate in a centennial tradition known as the Tour of the 7 Temples, which enjoys certain popularity in some cities of Spain and Portugal, as well as in some Latin American countries, including Venezuela, where I was born and where I currently live.

En el cristianismo, la Semana Santa constituye el período del año en que se conmemora los acontecimientos tuvieron lugar durante últimos días de la vida terrenal de Jesús como hombre.

Se inicia el Domingo de Ramos, día en el cual hace su entrada triunfal a la ciudad de Jerusalén ante el júbilo de los pobladores de aquel entonces, y finaliza una semana después, el llamado Domingo de Pascuas, en el cual se celebra su victoria ante la muerte, luego de resucitar.

Durante este tiempo, la iglesia católica y todas las denominaciones del cristianismo, realizan diversos actos religiosos, los cuales pueden variar de acuerdo a los rituales propios de cada creencia, e incluso, entre países o regiones.

En la reciente Semana Santa, acudí al centro de mi ciudad para participar en una centenaria tradición conocida como el Recorrido de los 7 Templos, la cual goza de cierta popularidad en algunas ciudades de España y Portugal, además de algunos países latinoamericanos, entre los que se encuentra Venezuela, donde nací y actualmente vivo.

Although I must confess that I did not meet the goal of visiting 7 different temples, this beautiful experience helped me to connect in a more intimate way with my beliefs, besides having the opportunity to observe the devotion, and sometimes the tiredness, in the faces of many of the parishioners that day at the end of last March, we coincided in this tour through the center of the city.

I also took the opportunity to document that activity extensively in images, many of which I have shared on my social networks, as I am doing today in this weekly initiative of photographs with a cell phone.

Aunque debo confesar que no cumplí con la meta de visitar 7 templos diferentes, esta bonita experiencia me sirvió para conectarme de una forma más íntima con mis creencias, además de tener la oportunidad de observar la devoción, y en ocasiones el cansancio, en los rostros de muchos de los feligreses que aquel día a finales del pasado mes de Marzo, coincidimos en este recorrido por el centro de la ciudad.

También, aproveché para documentar ampliamente en imágenes aquella actividad, muchas de las cuales he compartido en mis redes sociales, tal como hoy lo estoy haciendo en esta iniciativa semanal de fotografías con un teléfono móvil.
