Se conoce como crepúsculo al fenómeno atmosférico durante el cual el cielo se presenta iluminado, antes de la salida o después de la puesta del sol. Se produce porque la luz del sol ilumina las capas altas de la atmósfera, difundiendo la luz en todas direcciones por las moléculas del aire, y el cual llega hasta el observador, que percibe un entorno con diversos matices de colores. La duración varía con las estaciones y con la latitud.

Se suele clasificar este fenómeno de acuerdo al intervalo de tiempo durante el cual ocurre, de esta manera se habla de crepúsculo matutino, que se presenta antes de la salida del sol y se le llama también amanecer, aurora o alba; y el crepúsculo vespertino, que ocurre tras la puesta del sol, también llamado atardecer.

La ciudad venezolana de Barquisimeto, donde nací y actualmente resido, es, además de ser considerada la "Capital Musical de Venezuela", por ser cuna de insignes músicos en diversos géneros, ampliamente conocida por sus coloridos e intensos crepúsculos, lo que le ha hecho acreedora del calificativo de "ciudad crepuscular".

Esta imagen que tomé recientemente desde la ventana de mi habitación, la modifiqué posteriormente, haciendo uso de la aplicación PicsArt, empleando una superposición de filtros, comenzando con un filtro del tipo HDR (High Dynamic Range) con la finalidad de ampliar los tonos de la imagen original, y posteriormente un filtro sencillo de Blanco & Negro.

The atmospheric phenomenon during which the sky appears illuminated, before sunrise or after sunset, is known as twilight. It is produced because sunlight illuminates the upper layers of the atmosphere, spreading the light in all directions through the air molecules, and which reaches the observer, who perceives an environment with different shades of colors. The duration varies with the seasons and with the latitude.

This phenomenon is usually classified according to the time interval during which it occurs, in this way we speak of morning twilight, which occurs before sunrise and is also called sunrise or dawn; and evening twilight, which occurs after sunset.

The Venezuelan city of Barquisimeto, where I was born and currently residing, is, in addition to being considered the "Musical Capital of Venezuela", for being the cradle of distinguished musicians in various genres, widely known for its colorful and intense twilight, which has made it creditor of the qualification of "twilight city".

This image that I recently took from the window of my room, I modified later, using the PicsArt application, using a filter overlay, starting with an HDR (High Dynamic Range) type filter in order to expand the tones of the original image, and then a simple Black & White filter.
