I usually go for a walk in the afternoon to do a little exercise and almost always try to explore and walk new routes. Last week I was walking through the streets of Havana, Cuba, near the Colon Cemetery (the largest cemetery in the country).
It turns out that a few meters from the necropolis I found this graphity, initially it did not attract my attention so I continued with my journey. About a block away I saw another of these graffiti, I was struck by the fact that it was at the door of a warehouse (Bodega) as in the previous occasion.
In Cuba, the warehouse are places where food and goods are repaired to the population in a regulated manner. Citizens go and everyone has assigned a certain amount of some food, this is done to try to bring and distribute this basic food equitably due to the economic problems and insufficient resources that the country is going through.
Curiously, at about 500 meters I also saw another of these warehouse, repeating the same pattern, at the door of the warehouse. With a little doubt, I asked the clerk who attended the establishment if he had any idea what the skulls meant and when they appeared, but he could not answer me, he says that one day a few years ago when he went to open the store in the morning on drawing was there.
It was getting late for me and I came back from my daily walk (about 4 km on the way back). The next day when I go down to the warehouse that corresponds to my house, guess what I found.
Actually, this had already been there for a long time but I had not noticed it or perhaps because there were no others, nor did I remember that it existed.
I really do not know if it has any hidden meaning or is simply street works of young people who are dedicated to painting graffiti. What do you think ? Do you have any idea that it can be treated? Have you heard about it?
