Hey very good morning my dear people of #Hive, happy Tuesday to all and I hope you are very very well, I had planned to post here yesterday, but I was a little busy with a pending work from last week; but well I'm here again to bring you a new drawing for my artistic blog. This time I wanted to do something related to the theme of the forest, hunters and the like, and that's why I decided to create Samirah; my character is in charge of taking care and protecting all the creatures that live in the forest (Eberlyn), from the crafty and annoying hunters who look for very rare and exotic creatures like the ones that live there, to sell them in the black market:
Hey muy buenos días mi querida gente de #Hive, feliz martes para todos y espero que se encuentren muy muy bien, tenía pensada publicar por aquí el día ayer, pero estuve un poco ocupado con un trabajo pendiente de la semana pasada; pero bueno ya estoy de nuevo por aquí para traerles un nuevo dibujo para mi blog artístico. En esta ocasión quise hacer algo relacionado con la temática de los bosque, cazadores y cosas por el estilo, y es por ello que decidí crear a Samirah; mi personaje es la encargada de cuidar y proteger a todas las criaturas que habitan en el bosque (Eberlyn), de los mañosos y molestos cazadores que buscan criaturas muy raras y exóticas como las que allí habitan, para después venderlas en el mercado negro:
PROCESS / PROCESO
I'm a big fan of drawing this kind of character since I'm fascinated by the forest theme, therefore, the main sketch was quite easy, the first thing was to find a pose in which Samirah was with her bow and arrows in hand, as if she was about to use them against some of the hunters that stalk the Eberlyn forest; I made a fairly clean line and tried to give Samirah an appearance and an age between 20-30 years old. The coloring was done using some tones from my color palette that I slightly edited towards cooler shades, for the clothing for example I used an intermediate shade of purple to create the base of a long dress; for the hair I used a quite intense gray color to create a black hair like the night
Soy muy fan de dibujar este tipo de personaje ya que me fascina la temática de los bosques, por tanto, el boceto principal se me hizo bastante fácil, lo primero fue buscar una pose en la cual estuviera Samirah con su arco y flechas en mano, como si estuviera a punto de utilizarlos contra alguno de los cazadore que acechan el bosque Eberlyn; hice un lineado bastante limpio y tratando de darle a Samirah una apariencia y una edad entre los 20-30 años. El coloreado lo hice usando algunos tonos de mi paleta de colores que edite ligeramente hacia las tonalidades más frías, para la vestimenta por ejemplo use un tono de morado intermedio para crear la base de un largo vestido; para el cabello use un color gris bastante intenso para crear una cabellera negra como la noche.
The process of detailing the skin is always where I like to start since it seems to me that this way the characters come to life from the inside out, in this case I decided to paint all the skin with the watercolor brush; the strokes here should be quite soft for the 1st layer of volume, since the important thing is to establish very well the parts of the skin like the arms, neck, jaw, nose, etc. With the first details well established the next thing I do is to define them very very well, I make strokes with much more opacity and here is where I start to pass the blending and blurring brush to mix the new strokes with those of the layers below; the important thing here is to repeat this process several times so that the skin has a much more natural and semi-realistic softness.
El proceso de detallado de la piel siempre es por donde me gusta comenzar ya que me parece que así los personajes van cobrando vida de adentro hacia afuera, en este caso me decidí por pintar toda la piel con el pincel de acuarela; los trazos aquí deben ser bastante suaves para la 1ra capa de volumen, ya que lo importante es establecer muy bien las partes de la piel como los brazos, cuello, mandíbula, nariz, etc. Con los primeros detalles bien establecidos lo siguiente que hago es ir definiéndolos muy muy bien, hago trazos con mucha más opacidad y aquí es donde comienzo a pasar el pincele mezclador y de difuminado para mezclar los nuevos trazos con los de las capas de abajo; lo importante aquí es repetir bien este proceso varias veces para que así la piel tenga una suavidad mucho más natural y semi-realista.
The blush on the cheeks of the girls is an important part of my painting process, because in my opinion it gives them an even more feminine touch, and I also take advantage of the moment I am in the face area to give details to the eyes and lips; in this case I painted the eyes with a gray color a little lighter than the hair to make them look a little more striking, and the lips I gave them an intense and dark purple tone with the same watercolor brush. After having most of the body ready the next thing was the creation of the dress, in this case I concentrated on creating a very forest style dress, with short sleeves and with a long pleat to the ankles; here I was varying a little the purple tones to give good relief and shape to the dress, then with a square brush I was creating the shines and last lines of texture that gave a little more realism to Samirah's outfit.
El rubor en las mejillas de las chicas es una parte importante en mis procesos de pintado, ya que a mi parecer les otorga un toque aún más femenino, y también aprovecho el momento que me encuentro en la zona del rostro para darle detalles a los ojos y labios; en este caso pinté los ojos con un color gris un poco mas claro que el del cabello para que estos se viesen un poco mas llamativos, y a los labios les di una tonalidad purpura intensa y oscura con el mismo pincel acuarela. Después de tener la mayor parte del cuerpo listo lo siguiente fue la creación del vestido, en este caso me concentren en crear un vestido muy a estilo de bosque, con mangas cortas y con un pliegue largo hasta los tobillos; aquí fui variando un poco las tonalidades violetas para ir dándole buen relieve y forma al vestido, luego con un pincel de punta cuadrada fui creando los brillos y ultimas líneas de textura que le dieran un poco mas de realismo al atuendo de Samirah.
In the last part I painted what would be the weapon with which the character is in charge of taking care of the forest Eberlyn, that's right, I mean his bow and arrow, in this case I wanted to vary a little the traditional design of the bow and I did it in a slightly different way; I decided to give it a slightly curved shape where Samirah holds it and also used variations of colors between brown and red, to create a bow as if it was made of Cedar wood or something like that. At the end I just painted some trees in the back, and also to give a little more depth perspective to the forest with a rough brush from the Sai program; also as a final touch I decided to add a little flash of yellow light in the upper left part, to give a little reference to the sun that illuminates the forest.
En la última parte pinte lo que seria el arma con la cual el personaje se encarga de cuidar el bosque Eberlyn, así es, me refiera a su arco y flecha, en este caso quise variar un poco el diseño tradicional del arco y lo hice de una forma un poco diferente; decidí darle una forma levemente curva por donde Samirah lo sostiene y además use variaciones de colores entre el marrón y el rojo, para crear un arco como si estuviera hecho de madera de Cedro o algo así. Al final solo me dediqué a pintar algunos arboles en la parte de atrás, y también a darle un poco más perspectiva de profundidad al bosque con un pincel rugoso del programa Sai; también como toque final decidí agregar un pequeño destello de luz amarilla en la parte superior izquierda, para dar un poco de referencia al sol que ilumina el bosque.
