Good morning dear people of hive, I had some days without publishing around here because I had problems in the past with my computer, but well I'm back and I want to share with you a new drawing that I finished a couple of days ago, a portrait I made about a very famous actor which many will know who he is, if it's Leonardo DiCaprio who has made a variety of films like Titanic, Blood Diamond, the Wall Street Wolf, and many others, encouraged me to make this portrait because I was watching the other day the movie The Origin in which DiCaprio appears, and as in many occasions when I see a series or movie I feel like drawing on it or on the characters and this was not the exception, so in this post I leave you with the whole process of how I did it:
Buen día querida gente de hive, tenía días sin publicar por aquí pues tuve problemas en días pasados con mi computadora, pero bueno ya estoy de vuelta y quiero compartir con ustedes un nuevo dibujo que termine hace un par de días atrás, un retrato que hice sobre un actor muy famoso el cual muchos sabrán quien es, si trata Leonardo DiCaprio el cual ha realizado gran variedad de películas como Titanic, Diamante de Sangre, el Lobo de Wall Street, y muchas otras más, me anime a realizar este retrato pues estaba viendo el otro día la película El origen en la cual aparece DiCaprio, y como en mucha ocasiones cuando veo una serie o película me dan ganas de dibujar sobre ella o sobre los personajes y esta no fue la excepción, así que en este post les dejo todo el proceso de cómo lo hice:
First of all I started making my sketch and then I applied a layer of color as a base, this I did to try little by little the light and dark colors that I was going to use later to give volume to everything.
Primero que nada comencé realizando mi boceto y luego aplique una capa de color como base, esto lo hice para ir probando poco a poco los colores claros y oscuros que iba a utilizar más adelante para darle volumen a todo.
Apply some dark colors to make the shadows on the face, after this apply a lighter color for the highlights, this I do to make the face look as real as possible, then paint the eyes and mouth of the character, for this I used very light colors and little by little I gave shape to DiCaprio's face.
Aplique algunos colores oscuros para realizar las sombras en el rostro, luego de esto aplique un color un poco más claro para los brillos, esto lo hago para que el rostro se vea lo más real posible, luego pinte los ojos y la boca del personaje, para ello utilice colores muy claros y de a poco le fui dando forma al rostro de DiCaprio.
The next thing I did was to paint all the hair and eyelashes, for this I applied a base color of brown over which I added locks of hair little by little, first I made some shadows with a darker shade of brown, and then with a lighter and brighter shade of brown I made the locks one by one with great care.
Lo siguiente que hice fue pintar todo el cabello y las pestañas, para esto aplique una base de color morrón sobre la cual fui añadiendo mechones de cabello de a poco, primero hice algunas sombras con un tono de marrón mas oscuro, y luego de esto con un tono de marrón mas claro y brillante hice los mechones uno por uno con mucho cuidado.
For the suit I wanted to do something different and give it a personal touch for this drawing, so I painted the suit in a navy blue color, another thing I did after having the suit well painted was to add some beauties to the face of my drawing to try to make the short and sparsely populated beard that Leonardo DiCaprio always wears almost always.
Para el traje quise hacer algo diferente y darle un toque personal para este dibujo, por ello pinte el traje de un color azul marino, otra cosa que hice luego de tener el traje bien pintado fue agregar algunos bellos al rostro de mi dibujo para tratar de hacer la barba corta y poco poblada que siempre porta Leonardo DiCaprio casi siempre.
Finally and to finish with my drawing I wanted to add some additional shadows and glows, this I did to complement a little bit some details and that the drawing would be a little better elaborated.
Por último y para finalizar con mi dibujo quise agregar algunas sombras y brillos adicionales, esto lo hice para complementar un poco algunos detalles y que el dibujo quedara un poco mejor elaborado.
