Beautifully maintained Church sitting right at the Atlantic oceans edge..

Originally built as a life saving station in 1851 before the existence of the Coast Guard. Most of the stations were torn down by the government, but this one was saved by members of five founding Southampton families in 1879.

It was converted to a church and has been opened to the public during the summers ever since.

The setting of the church is spectacular.. Ocean to the south and Agawam Lake across the road to the north.. At the far end of the Lake is the town of Southampton, oldest English town in New York State.

It has magnificent Tiffany stained glass windows. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them due to a reflected glare.

You can walk around the building but not see the ocean at ground level due to the sand dune...That is the lake in the back...
