Back in Squiretown Park, Southampton township, Long Island, NY.... To finish our walk about the 200 foot cliffs along Peconic Bay...
In the photo above the ground disappears at the top of the hill, where the cliff begins...
The park was empty of people on this brisk Spring day, except for a local young woman jogging with her dog, which we passed on the trail. Later on we saw them jogging along the beach two hundred feet down. Assuming they were heading home.
We came across this all cedar stairway still being built... Was very well constructed and must have cost quite a bit to construct.
Before I knew it my partner scampered down the stair for a look...
Hand rails weren't in yet which made it a bit concerning... We went about halfway down ...
Back to the walk in the park ...
We were getting into where the old camp grounds were, with the raised wood platforms...
There were about two or three of these camp sites. We came across one that had a fire. Luckily the fire was contained to a small area north of the platform where a cluster of trees were burnt.
