In this report, I look at the history of currency manipulation in Renaissance Florence and compare and contrast it to the present day manipulation of precious metals and the fiat currencies or paper money.
I reference the book entitled "Medici Money - Banking, Metaphysics and Art in Fifteenth-Century Florence" by Tim Parks. Tim Parks recounts how the powerful bankers and guilds in Florence basically manipulated the public into using debased silver coins or the piccioli and made sure that the golf Florin was kept off-limits to the great masses.
My conclusion is that even though things have changed greatly since the Renaissance currency manipulation and debasement are still being carried out covertly by the powers that be of today just like in 15th century Florence.
