Hoy quiero hablarles de algo muy importante y es acerca de la poesía, esto se debe a que el decimoséptimo festival mundial de poesía se está realizando en Venezuela y comienza desde el día de hoy, ha llegado para deleitarnos con una semana que va a estar llena de cultura, de arte y de poesía.
Este es uno de los eventos más importantes en el mundo de las letras y vamos a tener reunidos a poetas, escritores y artistas de todo el mundo. Durante todos estos 7 días Venezuela se va a convertir en el epicentro de la poesía, este arte que nos permite contactar con nuestras emociones y nuestros sentimientos más profundos, que nos permite expresar y denunciar todo aquello que nos mantiene con un propósito en la vida.
Yo quiero hacerles saber que la poesía es la vida misma, pero está definida como un género literario que su principal característica es utilizar un lenguaje más elaborado, más completo y más cuidado que la prosa, que tiene una estructura rítmica, musical, agradable, muy sensual, utiliza recursos como la métrica, la rima, la aliteración, la repetición y la figura retórica para así crear un efecto estético y emocional en quienes la disfrutan.
La poesía puede tratar sobre cualquier tema, puede ir por temas como la ira, la nostalgia, el amor, la naturaleza, la historia, la política, el sexo, el erotismo, puede tratar de cualquier cosa, mientras que la prosa es un género que se utiliza para escribir acerca de cosas más comunes.
Es normal ver prosa en los periódicos, en las novelas, en los ensayos, y la prosa no tiene una estructura rítmica ni utiliza recursos como la métrica o como la rima.
Tenemos que tener en cuenta que la poesía es muy importante porque nos permite expresar los sentimientos de una forma más profunda y creativa que la prosa. Esto es un recurso que nos permite y nos ayuda a comprender mejor la realidad y nos invita a reflexionar sobre ella, sobre nuestro día a día.
También puede ser un recurso que nos invita a luchar contra las injusticias, que ha sido usado en muchos movimientos sociales y políticos. Podemos ver, por ejemplo, como Ali Primera utilizó su poesía en sus canciones para hablar sobre Venezuela y para explicar todas las diferencias sociales que tenía el pueblo y todas las luchas que se libraban.
La poesía es hermosa porque, imagínense lo genial que es poder hacernos reflexionar sobre el amor, sobre la existencia humana, sobre la vida, sobre la muerte, sobre la naturaleza, sobre el día a día, sobre todas las cosas.
Nos invita a reflexionar sobre la trascendencia humana, esto es muy importante para todos nosotros y en este festival van a asistir todos los poetas, todos los bardos de América Latina, de Europa, de África, de Asia, que le van a rendir homenaje al venezolano Pedro Ruiz, un gran poeta que ha sido un portador de su visión particular del mundo.
Este festival va a tener, tiene el lema de "Con el río a la espalda", que es un verso de uno de los poemas de Pedro Ruiz. Este va a ser como el eslogan o la premisa de este festival en estos días. Este festival se va a llevar a cabo en distintos lugares como bibliotecas, teatros, librerías del sur, universidades, liceos y comunidades de toda Venezuela.
Aunque su sede principal para quienes quieran participar va a ser el teatro Simón Bolívar en Caracas, donde está prevista su sesión inaugural hoy, 17 de julio, a las 6 de la tarde. Va a tener un programa cultural bastante extenso que incluye declamaciones y recitales de poesía, talleres, se van a presentar varios libros, va a haber conferencias.
Esto nos invita a participar y a conocer mucho más a cada uno de estos poetas e interactuar con ellos, a llenarnos de poesía, que es algo tan importante en nuestra vida.
Es la edición número 17 que se realiza de este evento que le da vida al imaginario del mundo. En esta ocasión, reúne a poetas internacionales muy importantes como Fernando Rendón de Colombia, Gerard Loose de Escocia, Francis Combes de Francia, Agneta Falk de Suecia, Bárbara Pogacnik de Eslovenia, Mónica Laneri de Paraguay, Rosa Sánchez de Guatemala, Sándor Halmossi de Hungría, tenemos a Alex Pausides de Cuba, a Anan Awwad de Palestina y muchos otros más que desconozco, de los cuales no tengo una lista en este momento, pero que van a estar participando también en este importante evento.
Son más de 130 poetas y se va a llevar a cabo desde el 17 al 23 de julio.
Debido a su importancia, mi aporte cultural para ustedes está en informarles acerca de esto, y quiero que conozcan también un poquito para que aprendan a diferenciar los tipos de poesía que existen, digamos los más importantes.
Tenemos,por ejemplo, la poesía lírica que se caracteriza porque expresa los sentimientos y las emociones personales del poeta, ya sea que nos quiera reflejar o hacer sentir amor, alegría o tristeza. Un ejemplo de poema lírico lo tenemos aquí abajo, que es Becker con su poema "Volverán las oscuras golondrinas", del cual dejo un pequeño fragmento.
"Volverán las oscuras golondrinas
en tu balcón sus nidos a colgar,
y otra vez con el ala a sus cristales
jugando llamarán.
Pero aquellas que el vuelo refrenaban
tu hermosura y mi dicha al contemplar;
aquellas que aprendieron nuestros nombres,
esas... ¡no volverán!"
Tenemos también la poesía épica, que es la que cuenta la historia de un héroe o de una gesta heroica y, obviamente, pues aquí no puedo dejar de mencionar "La Ilíada" de Homero, la cual es un poema que disfruto muchísimo y es tremendamente hermoso, y les cito un fragmento aquí también.
"¡Canta, oh diosa, la cólera del Pelida Aquiles;
cólera funesta que causó infinitos males
a los aqueos y precipitó al Hades
muchas valerosas almas de héroes,
a quienes hizo presa de perros
y pasto de aves -cumplíase la voluntad de Zeus-;
desde que se separaron disputando
el Atreo, rey de hombres, y el divino Aquiles."
Tenemos la poesía narrativa, que es la que nos cuenta una historia como si fuera una narración en verso. También es uno de mis favoritos y es uno de los más bonitos. Un ejemplo es "La Canción del Pirata" de José de Espronceda, del cual les dejo un fragmento también.
"Con diez cañones por banda,
viento en popa, a toda vela,
no corta el mar, sino vuela
un velero bergantín;
bajel pirata que llaman,
por su bravura, el Temido,
en todo mar conocido
del uno al otro confín.
La luna en el mar riela,
en la lona gime el viento
y alza en blando movimiento
olas de plata y azul;
y ve el capitán pirata,
cantando alegre en la popa,
Asia a un lado, al otro Europa,
y allá a su frente Estambul."
Y, por supuesto, no podía faltar la poesía dramática, que es la que se utiliza en el teatro y la que nos cuenta o nos narra un suceso o una historia a través del diálogo entre los personajes. Un ejemplo de este tipo de poesía es "La Casa de Bernarda Alba" de Federico García Lorca, del cual les dejo un breve fragmento.
"¡Silencio! ¡Quiero silencio!
En la casa de Bernarda Alba
se oyen más los suspiros
que las palabras.
Silencio...
Ya saben lo que les digo:
cinco y ninguna más.
A los hombres en la cara,
a las mujeres en la espalda.
¡Porque en mi casa mando yo!
Y a ese corral salen los dos.
¡Silencio! ¡Silencio he dicho!
¡Silencio!
¡Malditas sean!
¡Cómo odio a los hombres!
No quiero que se vuelvan a hablar de ese tema.
Dios ha hecho a los hombres
para que se maten entre ellos.
¡Bernarda Alba no ha de dejar
que un hombre se siente a su mesa!
¡Silencio! ¡Silencio he dicho!
¡Silencio!
¡Es la misma! ¡Es la misma!
¡La hija de la Librada!
¡Ha sido el mismo ladrón
que ha quitado la vida a mi marido!"
Para mí, la poesía nos ayuda a entender mejor el mundo que nos rodea, nos hace vaciar nuestros sentimientos y mostrárselos a todas las personas. Es una manera en la que podemos conectar con nuestras emociones y nuestros sentimientos, y es importante que lo hagamos porque de esta manera mostramos al mundo cómo nos sentimos y podemos celebrar nuestra capacidad de hacer arte y evolucionar hacia cosas mejores.
Mostrarle al mundo las críticas que tenemos en distintos aspectos de la vida y la forma en cómo vemos y cómo interpretamos a todo nuestro mundo, a todo lo que pensamos, a todo lo que sentimos. Esto es algo que ayuda a desarrollar nuestras habilidades y nuestra empatía, nuestra sensibilidad hacia todas las cosas y hacia la vida misma.

I want to let you know that poetry is life itself, but it is defined as a literary genre whose main characteristic is to use a more elaborate, complete and careful language than prose, which has a rhythmic, musical, pleasant structure, very Sensual, it uses resources such as meter, rhyme, alliteration, repetition and rhetorical figure in order to create an aesthetic and emotional effect on those who enjoy it.
Poetry can be about anything, it can be about anger, nostalgia, love, nature, history, politics, sex, eroticism, it can be about anything, while prose is a genre. which is used to write about more common things.
It is normal to see prose in newspapers, in novels, in essays, and prose does not have a rhythmic structure or use resources such as meter or rhyme.
We have to keep in mind that poetry is very important because it allows us to express feelings in a deeper and more creative way than prose. This is a resource that allows us and helps us to better understand reality and invites us to reflect on it, on our day to day.
It can also be a resource that invites us to fight against injustice, which has been used in many social and political movements. We can see, for example, how Ali Primera used his poetry in his songs to talk about Venezuela and to explain all the social differences that the people had and all the struggles that were being waged.
Poetry is beautiful because, imagine how great it is to be able to make us reflect on love, on human existence, on life, on death, on nature, on everyday life, on all things.
It invites us to reflect on human transcendence, this is very important for all of us and all the poets, all the bards from Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia will attend this festival, who will pay homage to the Venezuelan Pedro Ruiz, a great poet who has been a bearer of his particular vision of the world.
This festival is going to have the motto "With the river behind us", which is a verse from one of Pedro Ruiz's poems. This is going to be like the slogan or the premise of this festival these days. This festival will take place in different places such as libraries, theaters, southern bookstores, universities, high schools and communities throughout Venezuela.

We have narrative poetry, which is what tells us a story as if it were a narrative in verse. It is also one of my favorites and is one of the prettiest. An example is "La Canción del Pirata" by José de Espronceda, of which he also left you a fragment.

For me, poetry helps us better understand the world around us, makes us empty our feelings and show them to all people. It is a way in which we can connect with our emotions and our feelings, and it is important that we do so because in this way we show the world how we feel and can celebrate our ability to make art and evolve into better things.
Show the world the criticism we have in different aspects of life and the way we see and how we interpret our entire world, everything we think about, everything we feel. This is something that helps develop our skills and our empathy, our sensitivity towards all things and towards life itself.
