Haggai 2: 8-9 KJV

Mine is silver, and mine is gold, says Jehovah of armies. The last glory of this house will be greater than the first, says Jehovah of armies; and I will give peace in this place, says Jehovah of armies.

Whose silver and gold are they?

The direct answer to this question is given by the Lord Himself at the beginning of verse 8: "Mine is silver and mine is gold, says Jehovah of armies."

If we take this word very seriously, instead of trying to look for silver and gold, we would be interested in asking God, as owner of these riches, to give them to us, without a doubt we would save ourselves a lot of effort in life. These material things.

God always insists on telling us not to be anxious about anything, but to ask Him for what it takes to satisfy our needs. God is a good father, says his word that every good gift comes from the Father of lights who lives in heaven.

If God is the owner of gold and silver, why don't we ask him directly? Simply because our faith fails instead of trusting that God as a good Father will give us all those things according to his will that we need.

The Lord Jesus said to his disciples: "Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things will be added to you" (Mt 6.33).

God only asks the Christian to seek his presence, to give priority to intimacy with him. The result of this relationship is the addition of all things.

The apostle Paul recommends that we have a correct attitude towards riches, that we trust that the Lord will give us all the things that we need according to riches in glory in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 4: 11-19 King James Version (RVR1960)

11 I'm not saying it because I have a shortage, because I've learned to be happy, whatever my situation. 12 I know how to live humbly and I know how to have abundance; in everything and for everything that I am taught, to be satiated and hungry, to have abundance and suffer need ... 19 My God, then, will supply all that you lack according to his riches in Glory in Christ Jesus.

Paul himself recognized that riches are absolutely from God and expressed to the brothers in Philippi that God would take care of supplying their needs according to the glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

This shows that if we dedicate ourselves to serving God with the sole interest of loving Him, God will reward us with all the wonderful riches that Jesus Christ represents, especially his sweet love.

So, dear brothers and sisters, we must trust that God is the absolute owner of wealth and that He, says the Word, is the "portion of our inheritance."

This implies that we are heirs to all the riches of the heavenly Father. If we believe it, then, we can see that our future in Christ will be more glorious than what we can experience on this planet Earth.
