Blessings, beloved in the Lord. May the peace of God and his grace be with you all.
The truth is that we have all heard of Job's life. Of the terrible things that came into his life. Hard and unfortunate things that hurt the depths of his being and lead him to experience ruin and material misery.
The Bible says of Job:
There was a man named Job in the land of Uz; and he was this perfect and upright man, fearful of God and separated from evil (Job 1: 1).
The question that comes to mind is: how could a man of Job's characteristics mentioned in the verse read have been so unfortunate?
Can a just, perfect, God fearing man? Do difficult things happen in life?
If it is written in the Bible, it is because God allows it, not because God wants to harm his creation, but because the most precious thing to God is our faith. Faith is proven as fine gold. Job within his soul knew that there was no sin against God, and he maintained his steadfastness and trust in God.
The God-fearing person knows that "for those who love God, all things help him well." Job had it very clear, even when he had lost all his material assets, he had lost his children and even his wife had abandoned him in the most terrible moment when the disease hit his skin. He wanted to corner Job in the midst of his pain and suffering, and force him to curse God. But Job, remained intact in the midst of the trial, never denied God, even when his three best friends threw him in the face, that what was happening to him was a product of his sin. Job did not change his mind at all, maintained his trust in God and waited for God.
We all know the end of the story, because Satan was in the matter, God knew that Job was not going to deny it. Job ended up being more blessed than at first, his last glory was greater than the first.
As Christians we pass through the fire, but the promise is that the flames will not burn in us. This is the trust we have in Christ, which was demonstrated in everything and everything he defeated. And the victory a Christian has over the world is faith.
Job recovered more than he had lost, even his family recovered him, he had ten children more beautiful than the first. God does great things, even if the righteous pass through the fire, Christ also passed and gave us salvation.
