The first thing that God thought for our benefit, is that we live together as a family.

And Jehovah God said: It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.

The man being the head of the home and his wife the ideal help, both the wife and the husband complement each other, together they work better than separately; therefore divorce is not in God's plans. Marriage implies responsibilities among which the Lord says:

• They must become independent from the parents to form their own home, only then can they learn from each other.
• They become one flesh, this means, living in union and not in competition, sharing as best friends, even being intimate thoughts. (Genesis 2:14)
• As for sex in marriage, it is not a cause for shame, rather it is a gift from God to couples for their good.
• Children; they are a great blessing.
