Greetings to the entire community @Steemchurc.
In the full version of the King James version, the reference of two names that contain a mystery about a place in the beyond is highlighted in the book of Job 26: 6. Job refers to the following:
Sheol is discovered before him, and the Abaddon has no coverage.
Sheol and Abaddon go hand in hand. It is the mysterious place reserved for the dead without Christ. Sheol and Abaddon refer to a deep abyss, in which the Word of God bears witness to the existence of this place that is found in the hereafter, of course, after the natural life of man.
Job says that this place, whether Sheol or Abaddon, is discovered in the eyes of God. Think for a moment, about the dense darkness that exists in this abyss and the people that can be found in this mysterious place simply by rejecting Christ as a personal savior.
Psalm 88:11 of this same version of the Reina Valera 1960 Bible also comments on this place:
Will your mercy be told in the grave or your truth in the Abaddon?
In this fearsome place beyond, God's mercy no longer counts, let alone he who announces his truth. He who is already in this abyss of death that is in the hereafter, has no scope of the truth and mercy of God. Only here, in earthly life, can man receive and enjoy the mercy and truth of God. The church of the Lord is called to live fully in holiness and in the truth of Jesus Christ, to make sure to enter the glorious paradise where the souls that served Christ on earth meet and remain in holiness.
Sheol and Abaddon no longer have power over those who rest in paradise and expect a better resurrection, a transformation into a glorified body where sin and death no longer have power over the redeemed in Christ.
If we continue to search the Word, we will find another reference of this place in the book of Proverbs 15:11 (KJV1960):
Sheol and the Abaddon stand before Jehovah; How much more the hearts of men?
Notice clearly that this mysterious place of the dead is in God's sight. It is not that God wants man to go to this place, but that God has already given man the opportunity to choose the place of his eternity, so God sent Jesus his Son so that man instead of dying because of Sin, have life by receiving Christ in your heart.
Similarly, Revelation 9:11 refers to Abaddon as the Angel of the Abyss from which the locusts will be prepared to play the fifth trumpet of the judgments that will come upon the earth in the days of the Great Tribulation. The aforementioned biblical quote says:
And they have as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apolion.
We have shared the name of a mysterious place in the hereafter. It is important to consider the very essence of this word to be prepared for the sound of the trumpet that will announce the coming of Christ through his church, and thus be with him, in a glorious paradise, other than the Abaddon or Sheol. .
