(When we, the 3 sisters decided to celebrate the month "Shravan with green glass bangles and "mehandi" on our hands)
Today I would be talking about “Shravan”, the month where a lot of ladies gets excited and are waiting eagerly to arrive in Nepal. A month, considered the holiest, and when the ladies put “Mehandi” on their hands and load their hands with green glass bangles.
Now thinking about it, you must be thinking which month is Shravan because I am sure a lot of you might not even have heard of this month. Nepal has its own calendar year, so Shravan is the 4th month in the calendar.

During this holy month, every Monday the ladies would go to temple to pray to Lord Shiva for their husbands’ long lives (and those who are not married, would be praying for a good husband)
You can spot ladies in New Road (which is a busy area for shopping), applying “Mehandi” on the roadside by skilled person.

(Mehandi applied on my hand by my sister as I didn't get time to go New Road)

(I am ready for the month Shrawan, friends. Don't forget to apply yours today and good luck!)
