History of Nepal
Before I say anything about my birth place, and show all those amazing beauties that we have to offer the world, let me give a brief history about Nepal.
According to the site (https://www.welcomenepal.com/plan-your-trip/history.html) The Gopalas and Mahishapalas were believed to be the earliest rulers with their capital at Matatirtha, the south-west corner of the Kathmandu Valley. After which from the 7th or 8th Century B.C. the Kirantis ruled the valley. Around 300 A.D. the Lichhavis arrived and overthrew the Kirantis. One of the legacies of the Lichhavis is the Changu Narayan Temple near Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Culture).
Bhaktapur which is located 20km east of Kathmandu Valley is known as "the City of Culture". If you are looking for a historic and cultural touch, then Bhaktapur is filled with monuments, palaces and temples with elaborate cravings and it is a city surrounded by mountains.

(Welcoming you to Bhaktapur with our official way of greeting, which is joining 2 hands together and saying NAMASTE)
In the early 7th Century, Amshuvarma, the first Thakuri king took over the throne from his father-in-law who was a Lichhavi. He married off his daughter Bhrikuti to the famous Tibetan King Tsong Tsen Gampo thus establishing good relations with Tibet. Though the Lichhavis brought art and architecture to the valley, the Mallas were the ones who brought the golden age of creativity. The Mallas built numerous temples and splendid palaces. It was also during their rule that society and the cities became well organized; religious festivals were introduced and literature, music and art were encouraged.
After the death of Yaksha Malla, the valley was divided into three kingdoms: Kathmandu (Kantipur), Bhaktapur (Bhadgaon) and Patan (Lalitpur).
I would say Nepal is a beautiful country with a lot of natural beauties to explore. That was just a brief history about my homeland as I would not like to bore any one of you reading my blog. With more time to come, I would be exploring more of Nepal and I would be posting anything interesting that comes along.
I hope you had a nice time knowing a bit about Nepal!
