(Getting off the bus to take this amazing picture and at the background you can notice my mother and sister being amazed by the beauty that they went further to explore more)
As I blogged previously about my beautiful country Nepal and what it has to offer to the world to see. I am going to talk about another trip I went on 6 months back with my family. I would say I crossed out another name off the bucket list from “TO TOUR NEPAL” list, “MUSTANG” (one of the tourist attraction areas).
(Road Trip to Muktinath Temple with my family)
Before I comment further on how my trip went, let me give brief information about Mustang! Mustang lies to the North of Annapurna region, near the Tibetan border. Mustang is surrounded by terrains and mountains and the ferocious Kali-Gandaki River. Mustang is one of the tourist attraction area, famous destination for trekking in Nepal. Mustang not only attracts foreigners but also is well known among the Hindu devotees, all the way from India and Nepal locals themselves who comes to visit the Muktinath Temple every year.
(Dry Kali Gandaki River as we went there during the winter season, which was off-peak season for tourist, so we ended up with almost everything to our own.)
Visiting Mustang, Muktinath Temple was on the top of my bucket list as being a Hindu myself. Even though I am not a very religious person, I always prefer to visit such places where I can find cultural monuments and temples with cravings. Not only that, the mountains were also another reason for my visit to Mustang.
(After walking for 15 minutes we came to the entrance of Muktinath Temple but that did not end there as we still had to come stairs to get to the very top of the temple. During this winter season, I sweating too much inside my jacket)
(After reaching the top, how could we not have family picture taken in front of Lord Buddha)
Trust me, all those bumpy rides I made all the way from Pokhara city to Mustang Jomsom was worth it at the end of the day. I am not that kind of person who would go on a long bus ride but when I reached Jomsom and saw the picturesque scenery and the beautiful village of Marpha, the bumpy ride got totally off my mind. The natural beauty that it offered, really amazed me.
Here is some picture clicks I collage together so that I do not have to upload all pictures:
(with my parents to capture this beautiful moments we don't get to spent together due to my dad not staying in Nepal and my mum traveling to and fro Australia to stay with my sisters)
(A crazy and fun family time together)
(The first thing my sister and I did after we got up was, pulled over a sweater and went out to capture the mountains views - breakfast was not even on our mind when we got out of the room. After our hunger for capturing this beautiful pictures were fulfilled, we decided our stomach was hungry enough for food)
I would say Mustang is not just for foreigners to visit but also for locals like me who have only lived in city areas like Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan. Once you reach there, you would want to get settled there and be surrounded by its natural beauty.
P.S: Sorry for the quality of the picture as everything was captured from our phone camera, which we found convenient to carry around
