If a site costs $20k

I am assuming this is just a figure you pulled out of the air or do you actually think it would be that much?

I burn all author and curation rewards on a weekly basis

This is one of those "I think I understand what this means but I might not" thing - why do you do this?

This is very helpful for a project that loses money.

Very interesting.

And I love that we are talking about this here versus Discord because it might get other people thinking :)

As you know, I don't think it needs to lose money, and could make a whole bunch of it, that doesn't mean it necessarily has to or should if you enjoy it exactly as it is.

it’s hard to justify it when the most successful of all sites only onboards a handful of people.

Onboarding is a whole thing when it comes to Hive, and yet a big marketing budget is going towards getting people to look at Hive for the first time.

I guess my point is we either think we can do a better job or we think this is as good as it will ever be.

It's your site, your decisions. It's just easier for me to pick on STEMGeeks because I know a lot less about finance/investment and Ecency is more generic.
