A lot of signs are showing that EU and USA underestimated Putin's resolve (to the point where the head of the BND had to flee Kyiv by road, and got stuck amongst the traffic jams fleeing the fighting), and it will be Ukraine citizens who pay the price.

This is why anything such as a no-fly zone, special forces incursion, pipeline explosion, or overly visible support on the ground could very well escalate things to WWIII. Remember history, it doesn't take much to take a conflict and put accelerant on it.

My hope is things get resolved with as little bloodshed as possible.
