The value is in the content being already there ready to instantly query with complex syntax, not the database platform :)

For example, you could say "I would prefer GraphQL" but that would mean going back to the earliest transactions and adding them into your data store, all the while keeping up with the fire hose of new ones.

Doable, but HiveSQL have already done it, and nothing stopping you building an API on top now it is there.

Of course, if you run a full node, there is no risk of your database being shut down or you being separated off of it, which is a risk with HiveSQL
