Being part of a community has a bunch of Importance. For a fact, it's one of those things that cannot be overemphasized.

Like you said, we can get involved with communities which does not have stuff in common with us. In such situations, it becomes importance for us to look for common ground or just go to the one that will give us real sense of belonging.
