Hello Steemians,

As you all undoubtedly know, Bitconnect, the father of all Lending Platforms, the benchmark for success, the filler of wallets (....at the time at least), is now no more (At least the lending platform is, the rest remains to be seen).

In the wake of all the hubbub and frustration within the community, a few things are glaringly obvious;

Firstly, there will always be people both For and Against every program. It doesn't matter how much money can be made, there will be those who will remain firmly against it for many reasons - a Pyramid-style network being chief of these.
To throw in some objectivity, I would only say that it all boils down to the mindset of each individual. Some people even go to great lengths to not participate in affiliate marketing simply to prove that a scheme is profitable (or to avoid a backlash).
My question to this is simple "Does it really matter?''

I ask this because of my second point, which is that WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR INDIVIDUAL INVESTMENT DECISIONS!
The least we owe ourselves is a fair amount of due diligence so that you can understand the basics of whatever you invest in. And then there is a long list of 'NEVER's to uphold.
*Never borrow to invest
*Never use money you need like money for bills and survival
*Never join anything simply because you hear its 'hot'
*Never have unrealistic expectations - if it were that easy, everyone would be rich in 6 months...

The list continues but i'll give it a rest.

I am now quite aware of the damage that is caused by calling any platform a scam. As cautionary as it might be, it plays its role in endangering the people who are currently invested in the platform in question.
FUD can only lead to more panic and woe.

So what am i getting at? Do I believe we should keep silent and watch the crypto community repeat the same mistakes over and over? Not really, but the basic review videos seem to have gotten out of hand.
When money is concerned, I am less interested in a YouTuber's ''I told you so'' video than I am in his/her role in NEEDING to be right.

People will ALWAYS be drawn to get rich quick schemes because it is a desire ingrained in our beings. A large amount of people are open to the risks involved and will carry the weight of their individual choices.

Our role, is to wish them well and get our own shit together......

This is Crypto! You can either go hard or go home.
