Renovated and revitalized
When I first arrived in Singapore, I walked along the riverside and past this old warehouse several times each week. Although the building still featured some beautiful architecture and an interesting façade, it was well past its prime, and was virtually abandoned and derelict.
After some time, however, a construction company moved in. Over the next few years, the workers renovated the entire structure – inside and out.
Beyond any former glory
Although "The Warehouse Hotel" retains the name “warehouse,” it is now much more attractive and comfortable than any warehouse will ever be.
And in the twilight, the twinkling lights create a truly evocative atmosphere. When evening falls, and when the soft lights on the façade are reflected on the still surface of the river, it appears more relaxing and far more beautiful than any other hotel.
