I am always happy to talk about Christmas and bring to the present those special and unique moments lived in each one of them because they have been magical and different, it is my favorite time of the year and now I love living this season with my daughters because they make it more special. This time I want to talk about my childhood Christmases and what I miss the most about them. come with me
¿Cómo fueron las navidades de tu infancia?
¿How was your childhood Christmas?
The first thing that comes to mind is my grandmother's house full of white chairs, tables and of course, loud music. Since I was a child we always celebrate Christmas in that place, well the truth is that we celebrate all birthdays, baptisms and any family celebration there, it was our place. All of my mom's family and some close friends would get together, I remember that everyone liked to go because it was always so much fun and the celebration ended the other day. I was always with my cousins, they have been my sisters, I remember that the first things were our premieres (of clothes), dinner, and the traditional exchange of gifts. Dinner was very large, we could eat and eat again, everyone brought something to eat or drink and the best thing, I don't remember long faces or worried people. Dinner began sacredly at 8 pm and my grandmother took care of that, at 10 o'clock was the exchange of gifts and just before 12 o'clock they took us (all the children) to a room where there were 3 beds for visitors and we all had to sleep, or well, close your eyes until after 12 and wait for an adult to shout "THE BABY JESUS HAS ARRIVED" for everyone to run to the room where the huge nativity scene was (there was no tree) and we looked for that gift that had our name. It was the best moment, it was pure joy, it was innocent happiness and from there it was pure games, laughter and fun. The adults danced, the children played, until we were tired and it was time to go home. The 25th was the day to eat reheated everything that was left from the day before, then we returned to my grandmother's house to continue sharing and enjoying the family. On that street we all had fireworks, the famous little matches, traqui traqui, little stars, little onions, seven colors, and many more, there were parties on every corner, people with maracas, fours, and drums playing and singing traditional music that really gives me a lot of nostalgia because that time no longer returns.
¿Extrañas algo de las navidades pasadas?
¿Do you miss anything from Christmas past?
I miss many things because everything has changed, mainly because the family is very dispersed throughout the world, there have been many who have emigrated and those of us who have not seen for years, so our Christmases during the The last few years have been different. I would like all those who left Venezuela to be able to return and enjoy those family Christmases from before, that we can revive part of those customs and traditions and that now, we can do everything I described before with our children. I also miss the time of prayer before dinner, where we all held hands to give thanks for the food, for our health, and for being together. I miss everything I mentioned before, that happiness that was breathed, that tranquility, that fun so natural, now we live stressed, worried, anxious, pressured and even depressed or bitter. Our quality of life has decreased and with it, that joy typical of these holidays.
