Before October 24th:

If you have bitcoins on a foreign exchange platform that has not made a clear commitment to return your BTGs, send them to an address where you have the private key. For example, you can generate such an address:

  • with apps like Greenaddress, Mycelium, Electrum or Blockchain.info;
  • by generating (offline) a paper wallet;
  • with a hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor).

After the "fork" (from October 26 according to the official application site):

  • send your bitcoins to a new address. In the case of an HD wallet (Greenaddress, Mycelium, Electrum, Blockchain.info, Ledger or Trezor), please create a new wallet with a new "seed" (suite of recovery words);
  • create a wallet on the claimbitcoin.gold application by following the various steps well;
  • After making sure that they no longer contain bitcoins, import your old private keys (in the case, for example, of a paper wallet) or your suite of recovery words (in the case of an HD wallet) the claimbitcoin.gold application
  • From the claimbitcoin.gold app, send your BTGs to a foreign exchange platform if you want to get rid of them as soon as possible.

Note that post-fork operations are not necessarily urgent unless you think that the BTG will have any value when it goes to market and that value will decrease rapidly.

Warning :
As the fork did not occur, we could not test the claimbitcoin.gold application, which will have to be used with the utmost caution. We recommend that you first import only small amounts and move them to another address (eg a currency exchange platform) before moving to larger amounts.
