My eldest daughter is 6 and a few weeks back her tooth became wobbly. She was looking forward to this as her friends and cousins had their teeth falling out and she wanted hers to start too.
Well yesterday in class she pulled it out and came home with it in an envelope. The Tooth Fairy has been on 'stand by' for weeks but really she's been waiting a lot longer than that, since before Miss 6 was born.
So while Miss 6 was sleeping Tooth Fairy did her job and left $5 for the tooth, it was this much because it was her first tooth.
She had a little trouble finding the bag but without too much disturbing she managed to locate it.
Anyway, anticipating the excited rush in this morning to my bedroom by Miss 6's Special Delivery, she failed to show up. I found her upstairs getting ready for school. She tells me she got $15 from the TF!
It seems that my in-laws who we live with decided to 'help' and left an extra $10 from the TF. I felt a bit PO, like they stomped on my territory. I understand that they good intentions but TF business is the business of the parents not the grandparents. I felt robbed of my moment. I then explained to Miss 6 that not all teeth will be $15 but less as the TF can't afford $15 a tooth.
Thanks for reading, gotta discuss this with the Tooth Elf, I might not get my message across and he may think I'm nuts but it's how I feel.
