My journey in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag continues, and if there’s one thing this game keeps proving, it’s that every moment at sea can change everything. This time, after some sailing and hunting enemy ships to gather resources, I finally met up with Hornigold, Thatch, and another old sea dog. The conversation between them was a brilliant nod for the fans: Thatch had grown a massive beard, and his friends didn’t miss the chance to tease him a bit, hinting at the birth of the infamous Blackbeard. It was a lighthearted scene, but one that clearly showed the evolution of these characters, gradually transforming from mere privateers into legends.
Mi travesía en Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag continúa, y si algo me está dejando claro este juego es que cada momento en alta mar puede cambiarlo todo. Esta vez, tras un poco de navegación y caza de barcos enemigos para mejorar recursos, finalmente me encontré con Hornigold, Thatch y otro viejo conocido de los mares. La conversación entre ellos fue un guiño genial para los fans: Thatch se había dejado crecer una barba enorme, y sus amigos no dudaron en burlarse un poco, dejando entrever el nacimiento del temido Barbanegra. Fue una escena ligera, pero que dejó clara la evolución de estos personajes, que poco a poco van dejando de ser simples corsarios para convertirse en leyendas.
After that exchange, we agreed it was time to strike hard, but first we had to take care of a strategic mission: destroy a few coastal forts that were blocking safe passage through certain maritime routes. We knew that without taking out those defenses, any attempt at a larger operation would be madness.
Tras ese intercambio, acordamos que era momento de dar un golpe fuerte, pero antes debíamos encargarnos de una misión estratégica, destruir unos fuertes costeros que impedían el paso seguro por ciertas rutas marítimas. Sabíamos que sin eliminar esas defensas, cualquier intento de operación mayor sería una locura.
So without wasting any time, I headed to the shipyard and gave my vessel a solid upgrade. I reinforced the cannon reserves, installed long-range mortars, and upgraded the short-range broadsides—making them so devastating that just a few volleys were enough to shake any enemy that dared cross my path. Now I was truly ready to go all in.
Así que sin perder tiempo, me dirigí al astillero y le di un buen repaso a mi nave. The battle against the fort was a full-blown naval war. Smoke filled the air, cannon fire roared, and debris crashed into the sea—it all felt brutal and cinematic. I had to maneuver precisely between the enemy turret shots while unleashing broadsides that sent them flying. Once the defenses finally crumbled, we dropped anchor right in front of the fort and stormed ashore.
El enfrentamiento contra el fuerte fue una auténtica batalla naval. El humo, el fuego cruzado, los escombros cayendo al mar , todo se sentía brutal y cinematográfico. Tuve que maniobrar con precisión entre los disparos de las torretas enemigas mientras soltaba andanadas que los hacían volar por los aires. Cuando finalmente las defensas cayeron, anclamos justo frente al fuerte y nos lanzamos a tierra.
That’s when a different kind of battle began—more up close, more brutal. With my sword in hand and pistols loaded, I took down every soldier that came out to defend the place. The fort’s design, with its narrow passages and elevated points, allowed for multiple ways to approach the fight, and I made full use of my agility and gear.
Ahí comenzó otro tipo de combate, más cuerpo a cuerpo, más sucio. Con mi espada en mano y mis pistolas cargadas, fui eliminando a cada soldado que salía a defender el lugar. El diseño del fuerte, con sus pasadizos y puntos altos, daba para plantear diferentes formas de avanzar, y aproveché al máximo mi movilidad y herramientas.
The most shocking moment came when I stepped into the commander’s cabin—and found none other than Governor Torres himself. I wasn’t expecting him there, especially not so vulnerable. I didn’t kill him right away. Instead, I interrogated him, pressed him hard, and under threat, he revealed something crucial: they were planning to rescue the Sage, who was being held captive by a bounty hunter and his band of mercenaries, led by someone named Pierre.
I forced Torres into cooperating, striking a deal that—if it all goes according to plan—will bring me one step closer to uncovering the truth behind the Observatory. The whole encounter was tense, loaded with that creeping feeling that something far greater is unfolding behind the scenes.
Lo más impactante vino al entrar al camarote del comandante, me topé con el mismísimo gobernador Torres. No esperaba encontrarlo ahí, y mucho menos tan expuesto ,no lo maté de inmediato, lo interrogué, lo presioné, y entre amenazas me soltó una información clave , estaban planeando el pago por rescatar al sabio que se encontraba prisionero bajo la custodia de un cazador de recompensas y su banda de mercenarios, liderados por un tal Pierre.
Lo obligué a colaborar, estableciendo un acuerdo que, si todo sale bien, me acercará un paso más a descubrir la verdad detrás del Observatorio. El encuentro fue tenso, cargado de esa sensación de que algo más grande se está moviendo en las sombras.
And now, all that’s left is to wait for the right moment to launch the rescue. I know it won’t be easy, but I’ve already sailed through far more treacherous waters. This is only the beginning.
Y ahora solo queda esperar el momento adecuado para lanzarme a ese rescate. Sé que no será fácil, pero ya he pasado por mares mucho más tormentosos. Esto apenas comienza.
