I was having a walk down the road and I decided to check my mum's garden to see how fast the crops are growing, since it the season of sowing here in Nigeria.
Looking at the crops and their leaves, then a particular one struck my attention and left me no choice but to stop and admire how beautiful it was.
The name of this plant is popularly known in Nigeria as Ugu or Pumpkin.
The botanical name is Telfairia occidentalis.
They are use to prepare food of different delicacy, namely; Edikaikong, Egusi soup and Vegetables soup e.t.c
The leaves are very medicinal, with some tribes in Nigeria using it as "blood tonic".
The colour is usually green, but when I saw another colour I had to take a breather and get to admire what Nature brings.
