I Though It would be good to get some discussion going on Physical media vs Streaming, I am really glad this tribe has popped up as I have recently started getting right into my films and have started building a Library of blu ray/ 4k UHD discs!
So how do we feel about this? For me personally I am all about the Physical media! It all started for me when I was streaming "the last kingdom" on Netflix (great series btw...) And noticed just how bad the picture quality was in dark scenes....This is with me on a stable 60 mbps hardwired connection.
The more I looked into it the more i realised how compressed Netflix is, a few blu rays later and I was converted! Blu ray smashed netflix 1080p to pieces.
There is also the whole ownership scandal with amazon right now, about how films you buy are not yours, only licenced to you whilst they have the rights...That sucks.
However I do understand that space physical media takes, and its certainly not as convenient as streaming!
So - Physical media vs Streaming?????
