Conan the barbarian is probably my fav film of all time, I like it so much I bought the steelbook and framed it for my room! Its the movie I remember most growing up - As a 7 year old kid I can remember playing with my toy sword and holding it and trying to copy Arnie in the film - This film is my childhood..
But how is it today? Its a film I revisit fairly infrequently but is a film I seem to enjoy more each time I watch it, The story is really good - The characters are cast very well - lets be real here Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfect.
The film is Very violent in parts as you would imagine , but this is the days when blood bags were used in place of CGI - It looks real. This film also has some of the best small scale battle scenes I have ever seen. very much helped by the amazing score.
The soundtrack is what really drives this movie - Basil Poledouris was an incredible composer and its his score that is a key part in making this movie what it is.
For me this film is a 10/10 and will always be in my top 5 films.
