The front slip cover says "tom hanks gives the performance of a lifetime" after finishing the film I am inclined to agree.
Captain Phillips is based on the true story of the 2009 Maersk Alabama hijacking - Its a tight rope balancing act with Hanks as Captain Phillips trying to satisfy the Pirates and keep the crew safe.
Without wanting to give to much of the plot away there is two scenes in particular where the actors had never met pre filming - too add to the real sense of anxiety and uncertaintiy - and it comes across beautifully in the film.
I thought this would be a watch once film for me, But after completing the film The final scene was so well acted by hanks, so believable - it really blew me away - The film is now firmly in my long term collection.
