When they say a Dressmaker must never loseguard in an event I took it personal, especially because people might see what you're wearing and want you to make theirs for them. And I know that what is worth doing is worth doing well, so I had all these in mind when I made my beautiful dress for a special event I had to attend.
Because I love bright colors, I went with this bright lemon color lace with beautiful designs on it. I already had that lace lying around for long so this time I chose it for the event.
I wanted a beautiful full flare dress for myself so I got to work, got my tools, laid the fabric, marked the points and cut out the full flare first
After that I also laid the remaining fabric and mark the top part. I wanted an off shoulder dress and that's how I made the top part.
I sewed the lining unto the top part of the dress and below is how it turned out.
Can we all agree that the hardest decision to make in a woman's dress is the type of sleeve to use? Using a sleeve that doesn't match the style can completely ruin the beauty of the dress and so its a always good to picture well the type of sleev to use for a dress. I put all this to consideration and thought about the sleeve to create.
Another crucial decision is the type of neckline too, but I think the sleev part os more complicated.
I decided to make the triangular sleeve for it.
I use the hard net on the flare side so it can have the fuller effect on it and I finished sewing everything in about 3 hours. I made sure everything balanced well and I loved how it turned out finally. Its a good thing my machine cooperated very well this time.
Also everyone loved the dress at the event, yes I was proud of myself for making this and many other ones I've created. I love my skill so much and I hope to keep doing better and better and even achieve my dream of having my own little fashion shop and the tools I need.
Thank you all for your time here. Let's keep creating! 馃挭
