I found out about Steemit from an e-booklet that was worth US$9.99. The booklet was done by one Steemian and was very clever to make money from those who do no yet know about Steemit. Yes, I bought an e-booklet worth US$9.99 just to know the existence of Steemit. Back then, I was out of corporate job so I had all the time to myself to be browsing the internet.

When I joined Steemit, I started with zero Steem Power or SP but it was okay before because there was no need for resource credit to post on Steemit. When HF20 was implemented, they imposed the need of resource credits or RC before you can post, comment or make any transaction on Steem platform. RC comes with SP. The higher SP you have, the more RC you get. Since I was still new on Steemit, I did not have enough SP thus I had very low RC. I struggled because of that and was almost about to buy Steem from my own pocket so I can have higher SP. However, I did not do it. I kept on building my Steem account through posting, commenting and mostly by joining contests. I was able to build my account up to 100 SP without buying a single Steem or no SP delegation. If I was able to do it at 100 SP, I am sure I will be able to keep earning more if I continued that way. And if I was able to do it, others can do it too.

I came to know @celinavisaez who is also from Venezuela through #ccc. She is one good proof that anyone can build their account here on Steemit if you just be patient and learn from others.

In regards to growing your account, you continue posting and joining more contests. This is how Celina and I got to know each other. In regards to upvoting, @wakeupkitty may have already shared with you what I told her. Anyway, try to upvote at least 10 posts or comments in a day to earn curation rewards.
