Worldly Wonder

There is a lot to think about in our time of digital communication, many ways to interpret and encode information so that persons with similar interests can find and gain knowledge and wisdom from our blogs and videos via their eyes and ears. (That is why people read right? Because they feel they gain something from downloading information of their choosing?) Our human senses loaded with information, finding the thread is like listening to your friend at a bar or concert, searching for signal in the noise.

Our biochemical evolution has only recently had to interact with a modern world, we are but a pixel in the timeline of existence. Ten thousand years ago people began to build structures, since then we have created massive sprawling civilizations, nearly all of which have been lost to time and nature. Some remain mysterious and some have been thoroughly examined, but through the interconnection of the entire world, our internal landscapes have changed. Only 100 years ago the modern communication networks began to transmit their electric signals across the earth.

We have been enhanced by technology, able to communicate with anyone at vast distances only 25 years with new digital tools, animation, videos, music, and voice. We can travel to faraway places with digital eyes, watch the many events occurring in the world, some live, maintained in the digital memory. This has improved many people's lives, sadly, it has also destroyed some too. Technology is always participating in the human battle for power and control. Some people want to live simple lives some want to live grand lives, some don't wish to live at all.

Between the extremes I like to sit, those of us who don't want power or to publically persevere as an example, people who like to remain backstage in black clothing. Asking people questions, do you really know what you are doing? Why are you doing it? What's the point of doing that?

Most people react poorly to such inquiry, they are actors on the stage they know their roles and follow them simply because that's how they've learned to live. Unknown to them the invisible hand has been a part of their entire lives, sometimes they never learn of it's existence. That is the people making decisions, trading value, exchanging information in private rooms with private affairs and private lives, these secret decisions govern many peoples directions and decision making, known or unknown to them.

Decentralization is mean to make the invisible hand more visible, with our public ledgers and decentral consensus we will be able to consider a great deal more than an individual ever could, this does imply increased complexity and makes some tasks difficult, since human to human communication bandwidth is limited in comparison to computer to computer bandwidth.

There are several steps we must consider, the backend servers and infrastructure, front end user interfaces, and the social aspects so that perception is agreeable to those in agreement the network. Until next time.
