HAD ENOUGH…

I've had enough
of the --
backward thinking,
foolish notions
claim the floor.

The daily news
floods your mind
leaving just a stupor,
defining and deceiving
what will be the future.

I've had enough of
corporate interest --
leaders on the take,
showing no compassion
just a lot of hate.

Pretending and believing
there is no
better way, to shine
a light of
desperate truth.

Smiling and cajoling
as they look --
the other way,
standing at attention
waving at a flag.

I've had enough of
things unsaid..,
left without a purpose,
meaningless --
and empty.

Condoning by ignoring
leaves us all behind,
embarrassing and grave,
beyond --
the very pale.

Deplorable and scandalous
they feed --
the fear inside,
growing like a cancer
nowhere left to hide.

They play us like
a fiddle --
lack of any vibe,
strum us like a banjo
minus all the shine.

Time to show some
wisdom -- character
and depth,
caring for the living
hopeless and afraid.

I've had enough of
war and death --
starving children knows
no borders, can't you
hear them cry…
