I've got another tire story - but one that inspires me, not tickles me. Early on in my ministry I planted a new church in a town called Astoria, OR. My wife and went there with no support, just trusting the Lord to take care of us. We lived in a small apartment and had no money for a telephone.
Astoria is on the Pacific Coast. It rains a lot there. The last year we lived there we had 120 inches of rain!
Anyway, I was driving on a rainy country road to make a visit on a family. The road was so slippery and my tires were so bald that I could hardly stay on the road. I started praying that that the Lord would somehow make it possible for me to get new tires.
When I got back to our apartment my wife gave me a letter sent from the man who had discipled me. He said that he felt sure I needed tires on my car and if I could make the 300 mile drive to where he lived he would buy them for me.
I am still amazed when God does things like that in my life.
