Are you athletic? Because I am-I can surf the web for hours!
Okay, that's not funny. But hello there, everyone! I am Mark, 21 years old. I come from Vigan City, Ilocos Sur—one of the new seven wonders of the world, which can be found in the Philippines.
I am a Bigueño. It's a term used to describe the people of our place. I may seem quiet, but I can be funny as well. However, my jokes weren't as funny as you thought sometimes. Kidding aside, I am also good at pretending that I am okay even when I am not.
By the way, I am currently taking Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and I am an incoming fourth year college student. One common impression others have of me is that I am good at math because of my course. I like this subject, but I can guarantee that this course isn't just about it. It's more on analysis, and it is really tough.
My favorite subject, if you want to ask, is basic accounting. It's not because it's really basic, which is really contradictory since it is actually difficult. Nevertheless, I like it because it is where it all starts. It contains the fundamentals, and I am glad that our teacher in this subject is really passionate and has really given his best to let us grasp this foundation. Regarding my least favorite subject, it would be research. It's not because I am not interested in it, but for some other reasons, I prefer to keep it secret.
Contrary to what I have said in the first line, I am not really athletic. But I do spend a few minutes every day doing some exercise. I am not really into photography and, honestly, I am camera-shy. I was in fact amazed by the fact that I am the one in the following photo.
It's actually one of our requirements in our Art Appreciation subject, which was photographed recently. The good thing is, my groupmates were my circle of friends, and so I just smiled and followed their instructions to somehow look pleasant in this monochromatic outfit. My favorite color is blue, especially when we are talking about money, jk.
If there is one thing I would love to do, that would be travelling. But since I do not have the budget for that yet, I am really working hard to reach my dreams in life, not just to go to places but to help my family and my relatives as well.
I started writing articles in school as a campus journalist, but I suddenly stopped when I entered college. However, when the pandemic came, writing was one of the things that helped me cope with the countless challenges we're facing.
I became more active when I came across ReadCash, which I had known about from a social media platform. Since then, I have been allocating an hour or two, or even more, each day to reading and writing comments as well as publishing my own writings.
One of my goals in joining Hive will be to gain more experience. I also hope to improve my craft more and learn from others while meeting new people and being inspired by their experiences as well. I'd try my best to use the words I weave to inspire others as well, because in this world where things are becoming tougher and tougher, I also want to be a source of inspiration. I once experienced a life-threatening debacle and disease, but I am thankful to God because He has given me another chance to live. We are all fighters, and just because we don't physically wear armor doesn't mean we are weak. Not all great things need to be tangible. Some are intangible, one of which is our will. Always remember that.
