I went on a very good hike today, it was fantastic. Such beautiful views and landscapes, it's great to explore the country from other sides, even places that are familiar. I haven't walked so much in a while now hehe, I'm actually quite tired and because I'm tight on time, I'm gonna make a post about it some other time.
For today here are just a couple of flowers I've stumbled upon on the trail, that can fall into today's #colorchallenge contest.
This beautiful blue flower is a cousin of the ones we grow in our garden, a type of Eryngium, or eryngo is the name. I didn't even know it grows wild in the highlands here :) Apparently, they represent admiration, and are even used as medicine and food, which I also didn't know. Heh, you learn something every day.
And this one, turning purple in the sun, I think is a Gentiana asclepiadea, or willow gentian, although I could be mistaken. Again, they grow naturally above some 1000m above sea level, while a different species grows here lower down.
There were many more, but not blue ones. A flower post today, heh, but it's a different world out there the farther you go :)
Have a great weekend and enjoy if you're going on vacation :)
