And just like @tengolotodo mentioned in one of my brain dump posts, I am short fused and even more when I have to deal with tech problems. To add to that, impatience is also a part of mine. Anyhow if you care why I said my title, here's how the story goes!

So, this story happened a few days ago when I decided to donate one of my babies (laptop) to my cousin. She needs it more than I do and why not be a good person once in a while? All of my babies run on linux or dual boot because each of them has its own history and needs. This laptop that I am currently using is a gaming sort of experiment laptop of mine. I wanted to learn how windows work and how to do some things with it. I regretted this part because the things I learned is a lot easier run on linux and its variations.

My cousin obviously does not know linux, she is just typical non-savy tech user. She was wondering why she has to open terminal and all that. She also wondered how her .docx couldn't be opened while the laptop is perfectly installed with Libre office and its friend. Technically, there are ways to make it work but my uncle called me to insist fixing the laptop so it's usable. I went to her place and just like what I did when I first installed linux, I prepared a USB and also trying to download windows 10.

You know what got me fumed? I need to go through hoops just to be able to create a media installation. What's even more annoying is that, my download got stuck at 70% and according to forums I checked that is seemingly some common problem people experience with more LINKS just to fix them. Safe to say, I wasted around 4 hours just to fail downloading the damn thing. Typically,with linux whichever distribution that you choose, an hour is at max to just install it in a laptop and then it's good to go.

I also wondered if that was my connection which was the problem but it wasn't. My connection was pretty fast and I even tested it too before attempting another download. So, after my 2nd download failed again, I gave up. I told my cousin to just bring it to a place where they're willing to install windows and give her the license key because I couldn't be bothered with all that.

In fact, my year trial of getting back to windows is almost over. I felt like becoming dumber and besides, I enjoy working more from terminal. Had it not because my steam games and my bg3, I would not be using windows 🙃. From what I know with all the recent OS problems even crowdstrike, I think windows/microsoft itself slowly sinking and drops and despite their attempt with AI,that doesn't bode well either.
