It has been pretty long since I wrote a music compilation/post like this. I started this series with something called Nostalgia where I shared how I was co-running a music community almost 6 years ago and how I found liking in music again. Today is one of those days, when i wanted to talk about music. Someone close to me just reminded me that despite our real life job/or any job, we can still make time for making/enjoying music and be creative. I suppose it was something that was/is lost on me but I want to talk about this person that I discovered a while back during pandemic. He鈥檚 a deep house DJ that combines an element of tropical atmosphere and attempts to bring back the feeling of summer nostalgia , called Rammor.
I first found Rammor streaming his sets around 3 years ago. It was in some type of field supposedly in Bavaria, Germany and with a very minimal set up. He was streaming alone in the field and possibly with a friend that helps record it. He also streamed during a beautiful sunny day which I think was his attempt to build an image and the identity of his music. He plays remixes of robin schulz, losfrequencies and others deep house popular artist. What makes him stands out was definitely the location and music that he chose which matched the overall vibe and his musical identity.
As his followers grew & pandemic restriction eased, he started traveling around and his set was no longer just in the backyard. He started showing background of more exotic and tropical paradise like Mauritus.
Then, his video also improved just like this song where he produced 9 months ago with a lot better visuals. Almost every aspect of it has improved quite tremendously. It can be a hit song too if he got the chance to play it in clubs/tropical cafes.
The latest one is his video on Costa Rica with a beautiful sunset. Throughout the years, he certainly maintained the consistency of his visuals where he plays during sunset. So, it鈥檚 something that helps other feels familiar that he plays during golden hours with deep house and tropical vibes sets.
Unfortunately, over the years, his playlist stuck to mostly big names of deep house genre and rarely switched up the artists. It鈥檚 one thing that I hope he could improved because these days, other than those big names, there are other deep house artists than can be remixed and highlighted in a set. Otherwise, his discography would only be a few when we factored works that has similar artist sets on it.
