When it comes to Audio and Camera, Sony is the brand that I trust. It also got me thinking about the idea that name brands are pretty durable.They’re definitely at a higher price compared to its competitors but their quality speaks for itself. I also have to say I am not a regular user and it’s nothing to be proud of because what I mean by that is that, things break easily when I touch it and it often suffers the most unthinkable situation for an average user. So, the fact that this compact mini cube still works after 7 years of use is a miracle too. I have brought this speaker to the beach, splashed with water, falling from different heights, spilled with coffee, tea, you name it. The speaker has been through it all and still works. The only thing that changes is that I didn’t really clean it and some beach sands and dust got into it. The battery is also slightly failing but for 4-5 hours it’s still working.

Still available after almost 7 years…..

The product is still sold at the market and from Sony's official store it’s priced around €89.00. That’s a good price and a steal considering that it will last longer than a year. It comes in different colors but black is the slickest of them all. It also fits into your bag and is pretty portable, like any other mini bluetooth. However, what distinguishes them is the audio quality. Considering that this was released almost 7 years ago, the technology is able to catch up with the current one.

It features NFC connectivity, recharge with micro usb and has powerful bass. However, overtime the quality would greatly depend upon individual users. For a lot of users, they would still be powerful even after years. This speaker also features a call option that’s quite clear even after years of use. I would still use it when I am connected to the speaker rather than my headphones.

You can see the picture below the part that’s failing and it’s mostly “ the look” of it. Meanwhile the sound quality is still 60%. But you also have to consider that this went through rough handling. I am sure if it’s only inside use, it won’t look this bad.

Slightly pricier and name brand = Quality?

In the past, I used to buy cheaper speakers but they ended up lasting a year at most. So, instead of wasting money every year to buy a brand new one that would end up costing a lot more, this portable speaker is a money saving hack. This product is the reason why these days I tend to stick with slightly more expensive tech because they would last longer than cheap ones and same with smartphones where I tend to stick with the brands I know that won’t fail me. It's a win -win situation for my wallet and the environment too.
