Have some taste!

With the long holiday approaching the country, here I am stuck in down time and slightly hating it. However, for the past couple of days, I've been working on migrating my system and my entire setup that I used to know. I have a minimalist approach to my life and my digital system yet somehow, during the projects I did from last year, my files were already all-over-the place and I kept multiple copies of broken documents and trash. So, I've been using the days to clean up my system a bit and reset the way I approach my digital file and system. During these entire events, I realized why I should go back to the monochromatic palette, the color associated with minimalism. That is also because now, I am also responsible for many designs within the company.

Recently, I found out why I love monochromatic palettes. I find that loving monochromatic color is more pleasing to my eye and reduces visual clutter. It doesn't give me as much of a headache whenever I see brighter colors as well as colorful objects. While to some the schematic of monochrome can look dull, to me it isn't.

I think we forget that monochromatic can have different ranges of color except, it consists of one color in different shades and hues. So, there's still colors but it just has different hues to each object.

When it comes to fashion, I used to be someone who plays with a lot of colors. I realized that having too many colors can actually be confusing not only to my eyes but also others around me. While I recognize that sometimes mix-matching can work, I am simply someone who values otherwise. The taste I have can be a bit too โ€œrigidโ€ yet it simply works.

There were moments in my life when I stopped cultivating my taste because I wanted to fit in. I guess, knowing that there are people out there who are fine with liking just a couple of colors and labelled boring too, that makes me more confident about it.

There were times when as a minimalist, I argued that it's okay to have colors. Honestly, I realized maybe I shouldn't say that ๐Ÿคฃ like just stick to a damn simple color pallete. I do wear pattern and floral colored dresses but only during the holiday season. Otherwise, I'd prefer simpler colors.

For a long time, I also fit my aesthetic to others while I actually had mine. Everyone around me has something called โ€œaestheticโ€ and I found mine that basically circles around efficiency. And there it goes, efficiency is my taste and also why I was simply drawn to this lifestyle, the minimalism.

That also extends to everything around me where now, I honestly prefer less color and visual clutters. This is the re-brand, ( still along the same theme Iโ€™ve been talking about these days).
