This is another gem and unique find that I discovered while vagabonding around Borobudur, a cafe with cactus and rattan decor.
This cafe makes the visitor feel like either they are in the middle of a dessert or in an aesthetic rustic house. The overall vibe of this cafe makes you feel like you are inside of a pinterest board. And now I will tell you how I got there and also my experience in trying their menu.
It was a rainy day when I insisted on going outside. I was bored to death because I simply don’t like staying inside the house for too long. So, I begged my brother to take me to the cafe I researched earlier. There are many cafes with vintage and village themes but one of the cafes that caught my interest the most is the cactus and rattan decorated cafe.
Just a few minutes away from the world’s biggest temple, Borobudur there is a unique cafe called Borobudur Cactus Cafe. This cafe is a great place to spend the remainder of your days lounging around as if you’re in the middle of dessert while sipping some cold drinks that are available in this place. To reach this place, you can also easily reach this place by walking from Borobudur or if you are not staying around the area, taking a grab is also an easy way to reach his cafe.
As soon as you reach the parking lot, the cactus are ready to greet you into the cafe. The interior itself is dominated by white with cactus and rattan furniture as the decor. Inside the place as far as our eyes could see there were all kinds of cacti. The cacti are not just for decoration, they are also for sale.
I chose the seat that is close to the entrance and exit gate. In front of me there is a small garden with cactus and the mural that makes us feel as if we’re in the middle of a dry barren area of land. Before that, I ordered lychee tea and also a taco. I didn’t order any coffee because I didn't see any coffee machine on the counter and this place doesn’t look like it is specific for coffee. But their milkshake, tea options are something that I can recommend from this place.

The lychee tea in this place feels very fresh and it has 2 lychees inside of it. So, drinking this was quite refreshing. Then, when it comes to the food, it was something that was quite disappointing. The taco was cursed. It wasn’t taco, it was something wrapped with a tiny amount of vegetables and also chopped beef. I don’t really recommend ordering the taco if you ever find yourself visiting this area.
But overall, my experience in this cafe was pleasant. This cafe is something new in my radar that gives me more perspective that you can also sell the items while at the same time using it as the decor. But when it comes to the food, not only this cafe but other places around the area seem to have a mediocre meal compared to the vibe and ambience that they are offering. When it comes to the staff, they were all friendly, it’s just that the meal and the drinks are something that most places in this area need to improve.
