If you've visited Indonesia, you must be familiar with Bintang. This beer can be found in many places around Indonesia. This is local lager with 4.7% ABV. Everyone who's been to Indonesia seem to enjoy this drink. Other than the alcoholic beverage, this company also manufactured the non-alcohol products such as Bintang 0 and Green Sands which I love as a kid.
Though to be fair, Beer Bintang is not my favorite. I can never understand why people drink Bintang and seemingly so in love with it. I prefer stout and cider. But since it's been a while I drink any alcohol, I was okay with Bintang.
I don't know if it's the taste or something else, but I can't never finish a whole can. I am not expert in tasting beer but with the same style, I would prefer Prost.
Now that I am back where beer is so accessible, I probably will explore different beer styles and also post about it. I am curious about the differences in taste, notes, and trying to apply my coffee knowledge of cupping into beer. I wonder if that works the same that each beer have different taste, aftertaste, and smoothness, maybe smell too?
So, this is my first post on #beersaturday. If you have tasted Bintang, how would you describe the taste? and if you like Bintang, why do you like it?
