For the past few weeks Skyweaver has been the Play2Earn game stealing the majority of my attention. For those of you who aren't aware SSkyweaver describes itself as ...

"Skyweaver: the browser-based cross platform card game where you can own, trade and gift your cards. Deeply strategic gameplay combined with a player-owned marketplace lets you win tradable NFT cards on your journey to becoming a legendary Skyweaver!"

Skyweaver is a Hearthstone style TCG where you get to really own and control your cards through NFT tech. While this is a pretty standard pitch to those of us in the Play2Earn space Skyweaver does a lot to separate itself from the pack.

First, Skyweaver straps spells on-to creatures to reinvigorate the core gameplay loop! Next, Skyweaver has the standard Constructed mode you'd expect but, for new players, discovery mode will be what hooks you and where you earn the cards to build your first deck! Whats my first deck? Reanimator of course!

Let's take a look at some of the cards I'm playing!

Reanimator is an archtype that spreads across multiple games and can play like anything from mid-range to combo. I play it as a midrange deck in Skyweaver, beating down my opponent with aggressive well costed creatures that can take control of the early game before using a few key cards to get me across the finish line. Here are a few of my favorite early game beaters. When it comes to laying in hits nearly no one does it as well as Howl Geist for 3 many and, if you can trigger their Glory effect, Griff Scout can take over the entire game.

Playing a Strength deck means having access to some of the best targeted removal in the game and, if you've got it, why not flaunt it! Soul Taunt is a S-Tier kill spell in my eyes and Unstoppable Chop has the ability to Silence a target before killing it. This can be key against enemies who run decks based off the powerful On Death Effects some creatures carry.

But how do we finish game?

Speaking of game breaking On Death Effects lets take a look at Colossoid! With a body large enough to end games on his own Colossoid is a threat your opponent has to answer! When they do you get it's amazing death effect and, with the large hand size here, this can mean 6-7 free units that each deal a single damage straight to your enemy on death. Plus they all have guard! This can help put your opponent into No-Win situations to end games right when things start getting complicated. One Colossoid not enough? Reanimate them!

Broodwitch is the last card I want to spotlight today. This card ends games friends, mostly because many opponents are too lazy to read it. In the end-game battle you and your opponent often find yourself throwing haymakers. In this environment it can be very easy to sneak out a 1/3 with Stealth while your opponent is dealing with 'larger threats'. Why the quotes? Read that sunrise effect again.

13 damage, with Lifesteal.

While Broodwitch dies to nearly any removal spell in the game you can use it to sneak games away from lazy opponents like no other card I've ever found in a NFT TCG since Kron the Undying in Splinterlands. Someday our opponents are going to get wise and save targeted removal and stop dying to Broodwitches constantly but that day has not yet come. Until then that means free NFT cards for me and that why I'm here folks.

I hope this article was in some way helpful. Give Skyweaver a shot if this sounded interesting to you.
