But your parents are a microcosm of your experience, not all parents are like that. And the (while I don't know them), maybe they aren't a problem, but you think they need therapy, in the same way that kids that mess around don't automatically have ADHD.
Sure, my parents are my microcosm. However, I said the generation of my parents even if they are my biggest example of it. Speaking of ADHD. When I was still in school the class had either the good kids or the bad kids. Two baskets really. Is that helpful for someone who actually struggles with ADHD? To tell those kids that they are not smart, bad kids for not being able to focus? That leaves a lot of footprint on those kids. All their lives they will go about thinking they are just not smart enough. I think, it is a good thing that schools pay more attention to that now and can apply tools to help the kids. People in my life have ADHD and see how at times impossible it is for them to get things done, to start doing things, do stuff that their minds are just not interested in. Is it better to automatically assume that someone is just lazy, no good? I do not think so.
Therapy isn't some kind of magic, it isn't something that just fixes all those broken feelings, but it has become another consumer item, another way to buy a cork to fill the void, and actually avoid dealing with the real causes.
Of course, it is not a magic pill. I will be able to speak on this, hopefully, after October when I actually start therapy. Contrary the popular belief that everyone has access to therapy, it is pretty expensive ordeal. Finding a good one also is not so simple.
Is life hard, or have we made it seem much harder than it needs to be? Has all this split-focus, attention-grabbing platforms we engage with made our lives better, or were they better earlier?
Does Hive count as one of those platforms? I would say so. But eyy, that just being human in the digital age. It is probably here to stay whether we like it or not. The real effects we will probably see only in the generation alfa, if the world is still standing by then.
Anyhow, I get it that it all seems so bad with the screens and people spending their entire lives online being probably not good for future of the humanity. I am just not convinced that it is that bad yet. And that there is no hope only doom in the cards because of the habits young humans have these days. That's just my sample size though. Like you said.
