Hola les quiero compartir mi proceso de como hago mis piezas de joyeria, en este caso se trata de un pieza muy especial para muchos y es un dije del mapa de Venezuela que tiene la particularidad de un acabado de rayas, este estilo me gusta mucho pero tenía años que no lo hacía, en este momento quiero retomar algunas técnicas y piezas del pasado, espero que puedan disfrutarlo e includo aprender algo.
Regularmente para este tipo de trabajo uso lámina de bronce de 0,5mm, pero si quieres puedes usar plata, cobre u otro material metálico que puedas cortar, asi que para empezar el diseño se pega, pero antes puedes lijar la lámina un poco para que pegue bien, yo uso pega de barra que es para mí lo más cómodo por qué no hay que esperar tanto y adicional tampoco tiene tanto problema para retirar.
Una vez pegado, se abren los huecos con una mecha o broca de 0.7 mm que coloco en mi Dremel 4000, está es una medida ideal para que entre la sierra de la segueta de joyeria, recomiendo trabajar con seguetas para joyería número 0/2 o 0/3.
Se realizan los cortes con la segueta, primero los espacios internos donde abrimos los huecos y luego la silueta externa, todo con cuidado de forma de no cometer error o romper la sierra de la segueta.
Como el material estaba templado, procedo a darle fuego con el soplete para ablandarlo y así también quitarle el papel que se le pego; la necesidad de ablandar es porque me gusta darle a las piezas una forma curvo que mas adelante les mostraré como es.
Así se ve sin el papel y empezado a pasar lija de agua 3M número 220, para detallar que lugares debo corregir con la lima y la segueta.
Perdonen que la foto quedó un poco desenfocada, pero aquí pueden ver cómo se corrigieron algunas partes, además de la pieza pulida luego de pasar por el proceso de lijado con los granos de 220, 360 y 400, la pulida de la pieza la realice con un motor de banco con Mopa o rueda de tela de algodón dureza media.
Ahora vamos a pasar por el proceso de rallado, aquí ya todo es creatividad y experimentar, para esto con este lápiz con punta metálica especial para grabados de joyeria o en cualquier caso también sirve un clavo con punta, te ayudas con una regla u objeto que pueda servir de guía para trazos rectos, debes empezar a trazar con cuidado, un observación importante, yo use la regla de metal pero está puede rallar la pieza, es mejor usar algo de plástico como una tarjeta por ejemplo.
Este es el resultado, hasta aquí podemos quedar conformes, pero para mí es mejor darle ese acabado curvo porque se ve mas imponente y aumenta la resistencia de la pieza.
Para darle ese acabado metemos la figura del mapa en uno de los huecos de el dado de embutir de madera y golpeamos hasta que agarre la forma curva que deseamos, después de esto le damos una pulida suave, colocamos la argolla y lavamos.
Así queda la pieza después de mandar a bañar en plata...

Regularly for this type of work I use bronze sheet of 0.5mm, but if you want you can use silver, copper or other metallic material that you can cut, so to start the design is glued, but before you can sand the sheet a little so that it sticks well, I use glue stick which is for me the most comfortable because you do not have to wait so long and additional is not so much trouble to remove.
Once glued, open the holes with a 0.7 mm bit that I place in my Dremel 4000, this is an ideal size for the jewelers saw, I recommend working with jewelers saw number 0/2 or 0/3.
The cuts are made with the saw, first the internal spaces where we open the holes and then the external silhouette, all carefully so as not to make a mistake or break the saw of the saw.
As the material was tempered, I proceed to give fire with the torch to soften it and also remove the paper that stuck to it; the need to soften is because I like to give the pieces a curved shape that later I will show you how it is.
This is how it looks without the paper and started to pass 3M water sandpaper number 220, to detail which places I have to correct with the file and the saw.
Sorry that the photo was a little out of focus, but here you can see how some parts were corrected, in addition to the polished piece after going through the sanding process with 220, 360 and 400 grits, the polishing of the piece was done with a bench motor with a mop or cotton cloth wheel medium hardness.
Now let's go through the grating process, here everything is creativity and experiment, for this with this pencil with metal tip special for jewelry engravings or in any case also serves a nail with tip, you help yourself with a ruler or object that can serve as a guide for straight lines, you must begin to draw carefully, an important observation, I used the metal ruler but it can scratch the piece, it is better to use something plastic like a card for example.
This is the result, up to here we can be satisfied, but for me it is better to give it that curved finish because it looks more impressive and increases the resistance of the piece.
To give it that finish we put the figure of the map in one of the holes of the wooden die and hit until it grabs the curved shape we want, after this we give it a smooth polish, place the ring and wash.
